09 Week #2: Childhood Classics

Before we put you behind the lens, put yourself back in the audience. What was your favorite movie growing up? You know, the movie that you went to see 10 times in the theater and then purchased the VHS tape that you watched so much that you wore out. I can't name one, but I can name several: E.T., Ghostbusters, Footloose, Flashdance, and my all time favorite "The Sound of Music" all come to mind right away! Even though we grew up in different times, I think it safe to say that a movie classic is a classic forever. Do we hear any common Hollywood hits? Remember that a big part of your job as a moviemaker this semester is to be a movie-"watcher." Analyze, critique, and enjoy watching what you are learning about in class come to life on the big screen. And don't forget to leave your comments to this post to share some of your "Childhood Classics."

My Childhood favorites include: Mulan, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Lion King, Harriet the Spy, and I know there are some that I can't think of right now, but those were some big hits in my book when I was younger!

Well, honestly, I think you might be disappointed when I tell you my absolute favorite movie that I watched over and over when I was little: WAYNE'S WORLD! Haha, honestly though I would watch it about 3 times a day. I really don't know why. It was just crazy and funny. Of course I didn't really REALIZE what was actually going on, but I knew it was funny.

Growing up, I mostly watched animated movies which aren't good examples at all for good camera angles. But some other movies that I watched that weren't were "Cat Ballou" and " Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". I do also like "The Sound of Music" and "Gostbusters".

Its hard to choose what my favorite movies would be because I like so many. I really liked to watch The Rescuers Down Under, The Little Mermaid, and Cinderella. Those movies are still very popular because I always see commercials about old Disney Movies coming out of the vault. So pretty much all Disney movies are classics!

I have to agree with Kelsey! I would watch Disney movies over and over again. My favorite movies were lion king, Cinderella, Little Mermaid, and Dumbo. All these movies are classics and still continue to move through the generations. I also like to watch PeeWee Herman a lot for some reason. But now he is kinda creepy to me!

Some of my childhood classics would have to be, The Little Mermaid, any Mary-Kate and Ashley movie, The Rescuers Down Under, any Disney movie. According to my dad I watched a lot of Bambi, but I really don't remember! But all of the other ones are defiantly my classics.

I have alot of favorite movies when I was little but I would have to say my favorite was Annie. Even thou it was a very old movie I think it has good angles and good lighting and you can understand the movie very well. There is also many other great movies this one just stuck out the most.

My favorite movies growing up were mostly Disney movies. They consisted of: Mulan, The Little Mermaid, Oliver and Company, Beauty and the Beast,Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmations, Scamper,Peter Pan, The Lion King, and the Aristocats! I loved the Aristocats so much, but I didn't own it at home. So, whenever I went to daycare I would chose it every time! I still enjoy watching animated moveis today.:)
